Despite the singer obviously pulling away, the determined actor did his best to hold on.

'He's a friend of John Varvavtos and was there to present him with an award, and when got on the stage, the first thing he did was put a drink down.

'It was pretty funny and like watching a drunk uncle giving a toast at a wedding - expletives and all.'

In a video of the star's speech, he struggles to stay on topic and seems very focused on the food, declaring it not good enough despite it being a classy cocktail hour affair rather than a dinner.

Not hiding he had one to many, Cuba declared he had been drinking instead of eating.

Owned up to it: Taking to the podium, he said, 'I'm drunk now, m****rf***ers, so deal with it'

He told the Footwear News event: 'I think we all owe a debt of gratitude for this amazing meal they put together tonight. Because nothing says I love you like f**king sugar. F***king boxed lunch.

'I'm drunk now, m****rf***ers, so deal with it. I thought the BET Awards were cheap.

'Did they want me to show them the money, what the f**k?'

Show me the cocktails: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson star tried to get back on course to present John Varvatos wiht his award saying, ' 'On the red carpet - and I'll finish with this and bring him up - everybody said, ''Once you go John Varvatos, you never go back.'' You have black in you! I knew that!'

Finally realizing he was meant to be presenting the shoe designer with the important Social Impact Award, The People Vs. O.J. Simpson star tried to get back on course.

Stumbling over his words, he concluded: 'On the red carpet - and I'll finish with this and bring him up - everybody said, ''Once you go John Varvatos, you never go back.'' You have black in you! I knew that!'

Cuba is known for his love of a drink or two, with the star partying hard earlier this year stripping off his shirt, grinding on a woman before dropping her and almost eating a man's phone while partying in Miami.
