Junk in the trunk! Madonna, 58, squats in a pair of knickers for some on-stage twerking in an attempt to outdo Ariana Grande, 23, despite 35-year age gap

She's pushing 60 and has four children, yet Madonna still insists on getting down with the kids.

Her latest attempt at asserting her youth took place on Friday evening when she was joined on stage by 23-year-old starlet Ariana Grande.

The Queen of Pop, 58, was throwing a Raising Malawi benefit concert in Miami Beach, which she had invited Ariana along to as a special guest performer.

Twerk off: The Vogue singer wanted to take things further by turning Ariana around, both of them facing away from the audience, and treating fans to a bit of dual-twerk action

But rather than let the whippersnapper pop star get on with it and work her spritely body around the stage with some sexy dance moves, Madonna wanted to join in.

The pair hugged each other in the centre of the stage adoringly, Ariana clearly thrilled to be a guest at Madonna's show.

But the Vogue singer wanted to take things further by turning Ariana around, both of them facing away from the audience, and treating fans to a bit of dual-twerk action.

While Ariana was sporting a black jacket and dark tights at the time, covering her derrière subtly, Madonna was dressed in just a blazer on her top half, which wasn't particularly long.

I can do that: She's pushing 60 and has four children, yet Madonna still insists on getting down with the kids

Underneath this, she wore nothing but black knickers and fishnet tights, and subsequently gave the audience an eyeful as she squatted into a full-on twerk.

Following this, she whipped off Ariana's jacket and let her carry on with her routine in just the bedazzled tulle creation which featured fringed opera gloves and was one of the eight costumes on Madonna's $169.8M-grossing, 82-date Rebel Heart Tour which took place earlier in the year.

The former Nickelodeon starlet - who boasts 164.7M followers on Instagram - wrote on the social media site: 'Beyond excited to support @raisingmalawi and shimmy with my queen @madonna tonight (in her very own Rebel Heart tour outfit)!'

Hand-me-down: Ariana Grande got to raid Madonna's closet for the Queen of Pop's Raising Malawi benefit in Miami Beach on Friday

Who wore it better? At 5ft tall, the 23-year-old R&B belter easily fit into the petite 58-year-old's Swarovski crystal-embellished flapper frock designed by Jeremy Scott for Moschino

Ariana giddily joined her longtime idol onstage the Faena Forum and they did, in fact, dance to her 2000 track Music.

Grande shook her pert derrière beside the seven-time Grammy winner, whose suspiciously-rounder rear-end sparked plastic surgery rumours.

'Of all the reasons I live for/adore you [Madonna], your heart is what I am most inspired by,' the Christmas & Chill crooner later gushed.

'Thank you for having me be a part of such an important evening and for giving giving giving as much as you do.'

Shine bright in a disco ball dress like Ariana's

Sure, a little black dress is always chic, but who says party dressing has to be so genteel? Not, Ariana Grande or Madonna, that's for sure.

For a one-off charity event, the two superstars performed a duet together and for it, Ariana donned one of Madonna's iconic outfits from her Rebel Hearts Tour. Jealous, us? Totally. It was a custom design from Jeremy Scott for Moschino that called on Harlem flappers and Paris in the Twenties for inspiration. Did we mention, it was divinely dazzling and created out of thousands of Swarovski crystals? It was the very definition of bling.

While getting your hands on Ariana's bejewelled number is out of the question, it's worth taking inspiration from this showgirl sparkler. An embellished silver dress just like a disco ball makes the best dance partner.

This look has been all over the catwalks in experimental asymmetric forms at Vetements, tailored princess gowns at Dolce & Gabanna and with an eighties twist at Saint Laurent. We suggest working at least a few festive beads into your party dressing vocabulary as 'tis the sequin (sorry, season) after all.
