SPOILER ALERT! Carl crosses deadly boundary into Negan's territory in sneak peek for The Walking Dead
On Sunday's edition of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes' son Carl ventures for a perilous powwow with Negan into The Sanctuary.
AMC on Saturday tweeted a sneak peek for Sunday's episode, titled Sing Me a Song, which is the seventh season's second-to-last episode.
In it, Carl, played by 17-year-old Chandler Riggs, is seen alongside the deadly bat-wielding Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in the headquarters of The Saviors on a level overlooking the foul-mouthed leader's minions.

Safe travels: Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) have a powwow in The Sanctuary on Sunday's edition of The Walking Dead on AMC
Fan favorite: Carl, the son of Rick Grimes, has survived almost seven seasons on the bloody AMC show - no small feat!

At one point, Carl reveals what's under his eye patch as Negan stares at him lecherously.
The focus on Carl comes shortly after fans last week speculated that the beloved young character was next for the show's chopping block, fueled by a tweet from the teen last month indicating he was accepted into Alabama's Auburn University. (The show is filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, which would make for an auto commute of less than two hours if he were to remain.)
The actor's father, William Riggs, further added to the intrigue when he indicated in an Instagram post (featuring an image of himself with his son) that Chandler's contractual duties to the AMC had been fulfilled.
Teaser: The show advertised Sunday's episode with a hint of the possibly-gruesome reveal
Big shoes to fill: With his leather jacket, barbed-wire bat and thirst for blood, Morgan has well established Negan as one of the most feared TV villains of the decade
He wrote: 'Completed 7 years on TWD! #freedom #thewalkingdead,' though a subsequent post from Chandler's mother Gina-Ann Riggs made clear that nothing was set in stone.
In responding to a comment on the social media site, Gina-Ann wrote, 'Don't over analyze. His seven year contract is up. That's all he was saying, nothing else. Pretty big accomplishment for a child actor (and for the parent who had to quit his job for this child to be able to follow his dream).'
The situation should become clearer when Walking Dead airs Sunday on AMC at 9/8c.
Higher education: Chandler could potentially make the Alabama to Georgia trek by car if he remains on the AMC show while attending Auburn
Proud papa: Chandler's father William Riggs caused some stir when he revealed that the teen's contract is up
