The first episode of Mariah's new reality show gave an eye-opening look at her personal life as it showed her relationship with former fiancé James Packer before it broke down.

The docu-series also featured her new love Bryan who took center stage as the eight-part Mariah's World premiered on the E! network and its sister channel Bravo.

While Australian billionaire James, 49, appeared on screen for little more than 10 seconds, the 33-year-old dancer was repeatedly seen exchanging smiles, jokes and lingering looks with Mariah, 46, as they rehearsed for her European tour.

Despite Mariah's then-fiancé James barely appearing on screen, the singer spoke of him fondly as she showed off the yacht he had arranged for her to stay on off the coast of Capri.

'It's so beautiful here,' she said. 'This was a surprise from James to have. Look there's his yacht over there.

'My fans say James has so many responsibilities and I'm a night person. I work better at night, I'm more creative at night. It's not easy for us to spend every day together but when we do things we have great moments together.

'I think he's fantastic and we're planning a wedding. It's coming up soon.'

Viewers saw Mariah trying on her wedding dress and a long veil, both of which were covered head to toe in sparkling diamonds.

But, as the pressures of her tour schedule mounted – with just two weeks to rehearse and plan a wedding, manager Stella suggested it might be wise to postpone her nuptials.

Coming off a phone call to James, with tears in her eyes, Mariah told Stella: 'He's waiting for me to figure it out, when we're going to do it, how we're going to do it and all that.'

She added: 'I feel bad because I know I've disappointed James by postponing the wedding, but what I need to focus on right now is this tour.'

Stella, however, was less upset and told the camera: 'I'm actually relieved that Mariah wants to postpone her wedding because I've been dealing with this pre-nup and it's definitely not the most romantic thing I've read, I'll tell you that.

'I feel like we should meet our professional obligations first before jumping into any personal commitments at this moment.'

'I was a young buck. I was this green rookie when I first worked with her. So many things have happened. I grew up, I turned into a man and she's gone through so much,' he said.

'I think it's going to take some time for us to get back to that comfortability where we could just talk,' Bryan said.
