Subtle Shades of Glamour: Casual Jamie Dornan lets wife Amelia Warner take the lead in the style stakes at the British Independent Film Awards

Jamie Dornan and his wife Amelia Warner made a date night out of the British Independent Film Awards in London on Sunday night.

The duo - who tied the knot in 2013 and have two daughters together - looked loved up as they attended the star student event at Old Billingsgate near the Tower of London.

Keeping things casual, 34-year-old Jamie ditched the tuxedo in favour of a relaxed chino and t-shirt combo.

Understated style? Jamie Dornan kept things pretty casual as he attended the 2016 British Independent Film Awards with his wife Amelia Warner

Exude elegance in a satin maxi dress like Amelia

Jamie Dornan may be the hunky star of the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie franchise, but it was his wife Amelia Warner who stole the spotlight at the British Independent Film Awards.

Draped in an ankle grazing maxi dress by Roksanda, the brunette beauty looked modest yet sophisticated and she teamed it with a pair of strappy black sandals.

We can't get enough of that autumnal aubergine hue as well as the skin baring cutouts along the bodice and the contrasting stripes near the hem. Plus the relaxed fit is a refreshing respite from the ubiquitous bodycon and fitted silhouettes that are so often spotted on the red carpet.

You won't be able to get your hands on this beauty just yet, but Net-a-Porter has the brand's current collection for your perusal so click right and get those credit cards at the ready.

Otherwise, emulate Amelia's elegant style with a dress from the edit below.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star paired his white t-shirt with a dark navy blazer that complimented his dark chinos.

He completed his look with some rather well-worn white trainers on his feet and a bit of designer stubble on his face.

It was up to his wife to add a bit of glamorous flair to their night out as she attended the event in an exclusive Roksanda Resort 2017 collection dress.

Fifty Shade of Stubble: Jamie added a rugged element to his overall look by not shaving

The deep purple coloured outfit – complete with gold detail and blue lace – might not be for everyone, but the 34-year-old actress and singer looked elegant as she took on the red carpet.

The dress – described by American Vogue as a ‘forever dress’ – is loosely inspired by 1940s design but Amelia gave the outfit a contemporary edge wearing a pair of strappy heels.

The couple held hands as they entered the cavernous 1 Old Billingsgate Walk events venue, with mum-of-two Amelia looking lovingly at her husband.

Red carpet chats: Jamie was grilled by journalist Alice Levine as he attended the awards

Gracious loser: Unfortunately Jamie lost the Best Supporting Actor award to Adult Life Skills star Brett Goldstein

Jamie was in attendance having been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in Sean Ellis’ historical thriller, Anthropoid.

However he lost out on the gong to Brett Goldstein, 36, – who won for his performance in the comedy film Adult Life Skills.

Oscar winning director Andrea Arnold was the overall winner of the evening – with her road trip film American Honey scooping four awards.
