Ex-NFL star Joe McKnight killed in New Orleans road rage shooting 

Former NFL player Joe McKnight was allegedly shot dead by a 54-year-old white man following a road rage incident in Terrytown, New Orleans on Thursday afternoon. The 28-year-old was killed after an argument at an intersection at about 3pm. Medical emergency staff were seen giving McKnight CPR as he lied on the street, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Ronald Gasser, 54, has been taken into custody over the shooting and is currently being questioned. Gasser never left the scene of the shooting and turned his gun into authorities. He was pictured sitting by his car as medical staff attempted to revive McKnight (inset). A witness at the scene said she saw a man yelling at McKnight before he shot him and said: 'I told you don't you f*** with me.' The running back was drafted by the New York Jets in 2010 and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014.

President-elect Donald Trump told a crowd of supporters in Ohio that he has selected Marine General James Mattis to be his secretary of defense. The Washington Post and CNN reported the selection Thursday afternoon but the report was denied almost instantly by Trump spokesman who said: 'No decision has been made yet.' Mattis served four decades in the Marines, stepping down in 2013 as head of U.S. Central Command.

Yes it's real, and that's snow joke! Cat is left stunned after seeing the white stuff for the first time 

A ginger cat has been filmed seeing snow for the first time. Tarachan, a cat that lives in Japan, was filmed looking bewildered by his owners as it began to snow on their terrace. In the video, he is seen sitting on a garden table trying to lick the snow off his fur. Tarachan then stands on his back legs and looks around and up at the sky, bewildered. The video was published on Instagram, where it has been watched more than 8,500 times.

This funny video, filmed in the USA, shows a little boy giving gherkin a try for the first time. His parents chuckle as he grimaces when he tries it but keeps going back for another bite of the divisive food.
