And it looks like Kate Upton and her fiance Justin Verlander have taken it to heart after they were spotted heading home following what may have been a festive a spending spree in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The famously busty Sports Illustrated favourite kept her famous figure under wraps as she helped her her baseball star lover lug a series of bags back to their car.

Glamour model Kate, 24, camoflaged her chest by wearing a buttoned-up black blouse, which she teamed with tight blue jeans and garish gold boots.

Former American League Rookie of the Year Justin, 33, also went for a dressed down look of T-shirt, jeans and casual shoes.

And the athlete, who is worth a not insubstantial $60 million, was not to macho to allow his other half to do her fair share, as she carried just as many bags as he did as they headed back to his vehicle.

The Detroit Tigers pitcher won Kate's hand in May after he whipped out a massive eight-carat diamond ring, which cost an eye-watering $1.5 million.

Hopefully he has not thrown away his receipt just yet however, for they have yet to set a date for their nuptials.

They recenlty made another big commitment by splashing out $5.5 million for singer Kenny G's former mansion in Beverly Hills.

The 5,000 square feet residence features five bedroom and six baths in an East Coast country style home.

Aside from a luxury kitchen and sumptuous living areas, it features a swimming pool, hot tub, and tennis court.

Meanwhile, Kate is trying to get her film career off the ground with turns in forthcoming comedies Wild Man and The Layover.

She also has a role in in James Franco's no doubt misnamed The Masterpiece, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Tommy Wiseau's 2003 movie The Room.
