Jeff Foxworthy surprises mother-of-three at a grocery store by paying her bill when she came up $25 short - then posed for a selfie

  • Mom, Robin McFadden, was at the checkout but didn't have enough cash
  • Comedian Jeff Foxworthy, decided to help her out by paying the difference
  • After it was all over, the generous comic ended up posing for a selfie with the mom-of-three

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy, 58, came to the rescue of a woman at the checkout after finding she didn't have enough money to pay for her groceries.

Mother-of-three Robin McFadden came up short after she decided to go 'couponing' at her local supermarket.

But after scanning all of her items and discount vouchers, there was still $25 left to pay on the register.

Sensing that there was going to be a problem, Foxworthy, who was standing behind her in line, asked the cashier how much was left outstanding and simply took out his credit card and swiped.

The comedian often does charity work including helping homeless people or leading bible study classes out of the spotlight

'I was at the register and between me worrying about my items and the kids fussing, I didn't even know that Jeff Foxworthy was standing behind me,' she said to Fox News.

She told him: 'Oh no, no, you don’t have to pay'.

But 'he laughed, walked around me, put his card in the machine and said "watch this". I told him that he was going to make me cry, gave him a hug, thanked him and took the photo!'

McFadden shared the photo of herself with the comedian on Facebook, writing, 'The kids were restless and look who was behind me. He paid for my order when I wasn't looking! I love Jeff Foxworthy!'

The mom-of-three was surprised at the act of kindness she received but believes that it was a result of good deeds she had performed in her own live

'I'm so happy this happened,' she told NBC11, 'because right now, my page is filled with so many positive comments. Lately Facebook has been filled with so many negative things, but not now. I love it!'

The busy mom said she believed the run-in was 'good karma' because she had made a donation to a friend in need last week.

For a celebrity, Foxworthy is surprisingly humble and doesn't regularly flash his status.

In Atlanta, the city where he lives, he has lea a bible study for homeless men for the past eight years as well as volunteering with CURE Childhood Cancer and the Salvation Army.
