But there was certainly no sign of hard feelings as Bella Hadid and ex boyfriend The Weeknd crossed paths on the Victoria's Secret catwalk in Paris.

The 2016 VS Fashion Show aired on TV on Monday night, and saw top model Bella giving her singer ex beau a loving look as she strutted past him in lingerie.

Bella and The Weeknd, real name Abél Tesfaye, both took part in the Grand Palais-set show last week, but there was no awkwardness between the former love birds.

Viewers saw Bella, 19, strut toward her recent ex as he performed a medley of hits at onstage, looking sensational in a show-stopping metallic grey cut-out bodysuit.

Her intimate ensemble featured a figure-hugging sheer mesh corset with silver boning that highlighted her trim torso, while an eye-catching silver necklace framed her bust.

This year Bella Hadid joined her sister Gigi and bestie Kendall Jenner on the runway at the Victoria's Secret fashion show for the first time.

Also on stage was her ex-boyfriend The Weeknd who performed at the event. They say the best revenge is looking good and Bella had no problem in that department. Clad in a strappy grey bodysuit and a sheer corset, the brunette beauty was a sight for sore eyes.

Bella was full of praise for Abel after the show, writing on Instagram: 'Thank you @theweeknd for being the best and most incredible performer on the planet. You KILLED it, as always ❤️' 

Speaking to E! ahead of her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show debut, Bella - who split from The Hills singer in October after 18 months together - insisted there's 'no awkwardness' between the two. 

She said: 'This is his second year performing, and I think he's going to kill it. There is no awkwardness. He is my best friend, and I am excited because I am walking during his performance.'

Bella's candid comments come after she was spotted gazing at a photo of the Can't Feel My Face musician kissing her while jetting to the French capital with her fellow VS Angels from New York on Sunday. 

The moment was captured by fellow model Kelly Gale, who took a Snapchat video from the seat behind Bella on the plane.

In the image in question a brunette women - assumed to be Bella - holds her phone in front of her looking at the image of what appears to be her and The Weeknd smooching. A fan account reposted the picture along with a close-up and original of the couple kissing.

It was reported last month that Bella and the Starboy hitmaker had split up after 18 months of dating.

A source told People: 'Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album. They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.' 

Neither of the star's reps had comment on the matter. The couple were first linked back in April 2015 when Bella agreed to pose for the artwork for the Canadian musician's album Beauty Behind The madness.
