The man was incarcerated after attempting to steal from a jewellery shop. Footage shows the man trying to be freed by firemen, who pour vegetable oil on his body to try and slide him out.

A wildebeest has shown the power of friendship after resurrecting his dying friend from the side of the road. In a video, filmed in South Africa, the animal is seen repeatedly trying to save his friend by lifting him with his horns (left). At first, sadly, it seems that the animal doesn't realise that the other wildebeest is already dead while trying to get it to stand up. But incredibly, after a few minutes of trying, the animal successful resurrects his friend, and the two gallop off together (inset).
