'My natural resting face is one of a man dying': Ryan Reynolds insists he was caught off guard in THAT picture on the porch at Taylor Swift's house
Ryan Reynolds has attempted to explain his rather amusing expression in a now famous photograph taken on Taylor Swift's porch on July 4.
The actor and husband of Blake Lively told Entertainment Weekly on Friday that even though many people thought he looked like he was dying inside, he insists he was actually perfectly happy.
'That’s a problem I’ve had all my life,' said the Deadpool star. 'If I’m not aware a photo is being taken, my natural resting face is one of a man dying.'
'I had no idea somebody was taking a photo. Therefore I was resting comfortably in my persona of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth.'
Looks can be deceiving: Ryan Reynolds has given his take on THAT picture at Taylor Swift's house on Independence Day
Camera ready: Ryan, pictured here at GQ's Men of the Year party in West Hollywood on December 8, said his resting face is that 'of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth'
The photo that included then-couple Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston quickly caught the internet's attention.
Many, many memes were inspired as a result of Ryan's self-proclaimed lifelong problem.
One of the more notable ones included this caption: 'I now know what to call the Deadpool sequel: Deadpool: DeadInside. - Ryan Reynold's internal monologue.'

How did I get here? The internet reacted with hilarity at Ryan's facial expression
SOS: Sitting with wife Blake Lively on his knee, Ryan Reynolds stares off into the distance with a facial expression that said what almost everybody else was asking when they first saw him in Swift's July 4 beach party photos: 'What the hell am I doing here?'
Stuck in the middle with you: While his wife Blake and the other guests look relaxed and happy, Ryan - wearing Vans 'Era' sneakers - looked like he'd rather be anywhere else
Dying inside: Twitter was quick to spot the Deadpool star's duress
Over the top: The Hiddleston-Swift romance went into a new gear over July 4th weekend
At least when the actor was aware that his photo was being taken on his anniversary he was able to shake the gloom-and-doom appearance.

Ryan, 40, was being interview by EW after they recently named him Entertainer of the Year, primarily for his role as Wade Wilson, also known as Deadpool.
To add to an already great year, GQ awarded the handsome star with the coveted title of Man of the Year.
He and his wife, Blake, 29, welcomed their second daughter in New York City in September.
