So Gwen Stefani was not about to ditch her typical edgy glam attire when she visited Lake Arrowhead, California on Saturday with beau Blake Shelton and her three sons - Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, two.

The 47-year-old pop star stood out from the crowd in a lustrous gold jacket while her handsome men laid under the radar in camouflage gear.

The No Doubt frontwoman teamed the cosy metallic coat with light wash distressed denims that encased her lean limbs.

She  wore bright red boots, a California Republic baseball cap and several dainty gold necklaces and earrings. 

The Hollaback Girl songstress styled her blonde locks to one side, adding soft curls at the end.

Turns out we've been doing winter fashion all wrong.

While most of us have opted to join the sea of black coats and army of basic black boots-- Gwen Stefani chose a metallic anorak that she paired with some equally punchy red Timberland boots.

It is, Gwen Stefani afterall, so we'd expect nothing less. And while a gilded jacket might be "too much" for us, red boots seem right on the money.

The girlfriend of country crooner Blake, 40, appeared in good spirits among rumors of wedding bells for the pair. 

She and the Boys 'Round Here hit-maker have been inseparable since they began dating last year.

It's frequently rumoured that they are planning to get engaged in the near future.

And while there may not be a ring on her finger just yet, there's No Doubt that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's relationship is extremely serious.

In September a source told UsWeekly: 'They are both very, very happy. Blake is having the time of his life with Gwen and feels so comfortable around her.'

Another insider previously told the publication that Gwen would like 'something more low-key than their first weddings.'

'It would likely be at Blake's ranch [in Oklahoma] or in the backyard. Gwen doesn't really care, she is just in love with Blake and their life together,' the source added.

The marriage would be the third for Blake since ex-wives Kaynette Gern and Miranda Lambert, and second for Gwen who finalized her divorce from Gavin Rossdale on April 8.
