Instagram reveals 2016's top 20 most photographed places in the world (and it's the USA and France that are snap-happiest)

It's no secret that people love taking and sharing photos of beautiful spots from around the world, but now, thanks to Instagram, we know which places are officially the most snap-happy.
As part of its Year in Review the social media site has released a list of the 20 most Instagrammed places in the world in 2016 - and it's the USA that has the lion's share of the places people love to photograph the most, with France also high in the rankings.
The photo-sharing app used geotagging to find the results.

Iconic spots such as Times Square and the Eiffel Tower have made the list but it was the magic of Disney that captured the imagination of the world's smartphone owners the most.

American locations proved particularly popular with Instagram users, scooping 12 out of the 20 spots.
Famous locations such as Niagra Falls, Brooklyn Bridge and the Las Vegas strip all made the list.

Central Park came third in the list and was the most popular out of six New York locations, beating the Empire State building and Times Square
The Louvre in Paris has held its position in sixth place for two years in a row
Even Los Angeles International Airport was in there, coming 14th and beating London's Tower Bridge.
In fact Tower Bridge was the only location in the UK to make the top 20.
Historic buildings were popular with Instagrammers this year such as Notre-Dame in Paris and the Colosseum in Rome.
Disneyland - supposedly the happiest place on Earth - is certainly the snap-happiest place on Earth as it's topped the list two years in a row.
