It may have been particularly gloomy morning in New York City on Monday, but Ivanka Trump refused to let the rain put a damper on the start of her work week.

The 35-year-old was all smiles when she left her Park Avenue apartment wearing a chic navy and black ensemble and headed to work.

Ivanka has been ditching her jacket in favor of showing off her outfit now that she is First Daughter, but today she made sure to throw a coat over her shoulders to avoid the chill in the air as she stepped out the door of her building.

Happier than ever? Ivanka Trump flashed a grin when she stepped outside of her Park Avenue apartment on Monday morning

The businesswoman held her black and blue velvet-trimmed coat closed with her hand as she headed outside in a black sweater, a navy skirt with a slit, and classic black suede pumps.

Ivanka was flanked by Secret Service agents from her personal detail, and she flashed a smile to the photographers waiting outside her Upper East Side building as she walked to the silver SUV that was waiting outside for her.

The mother-of-three's doorman can be seen getting her an umbrella ready, but her blonde hair was protected from the rain thanks to the construction scaffolding that surrounds her building.

Always stylish: The 35-year-old mom donned a black top, a navy skirt with a slit, and black pumps, opting to keep her legs bare despite the chill

She quickly stepped into the vehicle that was waiting for her, while the wing blew her long hair off of her shoulders.

Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, 35, are reportedly planning on moving to Washington, D.C. with their three children, Arabella, five, Joseph, three, and Theodore, eight-months, to be close to her father Donald during his presidency.

Although she said just last month that she doesn't have any plans to join the President-elect's administration in any official capacity, her dad revealed last night that he has other plans.

And she's off! Ivanka was flanked by Secret Service agents as she dashed into the SUV waiting outside for her

Speaking with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, the incoming commander-in-chief said he was actively pursuing a way to include his eldest daughter and her husband Jared in his administration.

'If you look at Ivanka, you take a look and she's so strong, as you know, on the women's issue and childcare and so many things, she would be so good — nobody could do better than her — we'll have to see whether or not we can do that,' Donald acknowledged.

Politico reported last week that Ivanka planned to hire a chief of staff and several aides to assist her as she moves into the role of first daughter, which historically has been an un-official role.

New role? On Sunday, Ivanka's father, President-elect Donald Trump, said he wants to include her and her husband Jared Kushner, 35, in his administration. They are pictured in October

All together: Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner are reportedly considering moving to Washington, D.C. with their three children, Arabella, Joseph, and baby Theodore

'And I'd love to have Jared helping us with deals with other nations,' Donald added 'Let's see if we can do peace in the Middle East and other things.'

Despite his enthusiasm, there's a federal nepotism law that could make official roles for the couple legally and politically problematic.

Last month, Ivanka and her family appeared on 60 Minutes, where she insisted she was 'going to be a daughter', noting that she was 'very passionate' about advocating for women — 'but not in a formal administrative capacity'.

Despite the ongoing changes in her life, Ivanka and Jared are still keeping a sense of normalcy for their children.

Workout time: Ivanka shared a video on Friday afternoon of her husband  and and their five-year-old daughter Arabella

Great boss: The mother-of-three spent Thursday night bowling with 'Team Ivanka' at Bowlmor Lanes

Ahead of the weekend, the proud wife took to Instagram to share a video her husband doing pull-ups in the gym — while her daughter Arabella hangs from his neck.

'Arabella loves hanging around for #FitnessFriday,' Ivanka wrote, adding a muscular arm emoji to drive home the point.

In the short clip, Jared pulls himself up on a bar while Arabella keeps her arms and legs tightly wrapped around her dad. She giggles, clearly enjoying the game, while a TV playing the news is seen and heard in the background.

Still laughing, she tells Jared that she is ready to get down, but the surprisingly strong father-of-three seems intent to show off a bit longer.

'You can put me down now!' she says before Jared slowly and carefully lowers himself to the ground and helps her slide off him.
