'Oh we're going to have fun!' Delta Goodrem and Boy George pose cheek to cheek as they practice their pouts after Culture Club singer announces his place on The Voice Australia

He recently announced his role as judge on The Voice Australia. 

And Boy George has wasted no time in bonding with the show's other stars. 

He was seen practicing his pout with Delta Goodrem when she came to see him perform with Culture Club in Melbourne on Sunday.

The Born To Try hitmaker shared the photo, which showed the pair cheek to cheek and both pouting, with her Instagram followers on Monday morning. 

'Oh we're going to have fun,' she captioned the image. 

'So great to catch up and see our new voice coach @boygeorgeofficial in full swing on stage last night with Culture Club under the stars in Melbourne, fabulous!'

The 32-year-old told followers she was looking forward to what would be a 'fun, exciting' season of the reality talent show.  

Boy George will join existing mentors Seal and Delta Goodrem on the singing competition, as well as a yet to be named fourth coach.

Boy George is currently in Australia touring, and the singer made the surprise announcement during an interview with Today last week.

The Karma Chameleon crooner said executives from The Voice Australia had been chasing him for several seasons. 

Earlier this year, he completed a coaching stint on the British version of the show.

Fellow judges: He will join Delta Goodrem and Seal, as well as a yet to be revealed fourth judge 

'For a few years they had approached me several times, but it wasn't the right time,' he said.

'But having done it in the UK, I feel really ready to go now because I understand what the show is.'

The iconic singer said he was looking forward to working with the show's coaches.

'I've known Seal for years, haven't seen him for a long time,' Boy George said.

Iconic look: While admitting the voice was important, Boy George told Today an overall look was also important 

'Delta I met very briefly and the other person I know as well.'

The Culture Club front man said while the show was about discovering good voices, an aspiring artist needed to embody other aspects to succeed.

He  had no time for contestants who behaved like divas or were lazy.

'I've got no time for difficult people who don't want to work,' the 55-year-old said. 

'If you have got the right attitude you can do anything.'

But while he was excited for the opportunity, Boy George admitted he was the last person who should be advising budding stars on dealing with fame.

The pop singer has had a long string of tussles with paparazzi, only lashed out at a female photographer at Sydney airport earlier this month.

Footage showed the artist telling her to 'p**** off' and pushing her.

He also had a well-publicised battle with heroin addiction before getting sober eight years ago. 

'I am the worst person to give advice ... don't do anything I do!' he joked to Today. 

Boy George was born George Alan O'Dowd and rose to fame with Culture Club in the 1980s.

His flamboyant and androgynous style made him an icon, as did ongoing speculation about his sexuality.

He became addicted to heroin in the late 1980s and went on to have a string of legal troubles, including a conviction for the assault and false imprisonment of a model in his apartment in 2008.

But Boy George has been clean and sober for several years now, telling The Express in January he felt lucky to be in his position after what he went through. 

'I’ve got so much to be happy about,' he said.
