EXCLUSIVE 'She's lovely but I'm single': Matt Goss shoots down Rebecca Furguson romance rumours... as they share the red carpet at BBC Music Awards

It was reported in October that he was enjoying a romance with Rebecca Ferguson.

Yet Matt Goss insisted he is totally single as he spoke exclusively to MailOnline about his love life while attending Monday night's BBC Music Awards in London - where he dazzled the red carpet with a funky pair of red leather trousers.

The 48-year-old pop star shunned the rumours that he and Rebecca, who was also at the bash, were dating yet admitted she was 'lovely'.

Leather lad: Matt Goss insists he is totally single as he spoke exclusively to MailOnline about his love life while attending Monday night's BBC Music Awards in London - where he dazzled the red carpet with a funky pair of red leather trousers

Matt, who found fame in Eighties boy band Bros alongside his twin brother Luke, showed off his typically quirky style as he stormed the red carpet at the star-studded bash, wearing dramatic red leather trousers.

Atop his shiny pants, he wore a cream blazer with a double breasted waistcoat while he flashed his chest through his deeply unbuttoned black shirt.

As he attended the bash, Matt spoke of his rumoured romance with the former X Factor to MailOnline, saying: 'That just took on a life of its own. I know Rebecca, we spoke today and she's lovely.

'But I'm single and the good thing is it's a nice feeling when you meet someone, especially as lovely as Rebecca, and you talk, but that happens at our pace and not anyone else's.'

Hot on his heels for the red carpet posing was Rebecca, who looked stunning in a funky skirt and jacket combo.

Aside from his sentiments on the romance, Rebecca spoke to The Mirror earlier in the day, saying of her 'relationship' with the Bros star: 'I'm speaking to him and he's a really nice person. I like his music, too, so I'm happy for him. We'll see what happens. That's all I'm going to say!'

Back in October, sources claimed the duo enjoyed a Jack The Ripper tour in London before heading for a curry on Brick Lane.

Dating it up: Back in October, sources claimed the duo enjoyed a Jack The Ripper tour in London before heading for a curry on Brick Lane

An onlooker told Mirror: 'It was a bit of a bizarre date, but they seemed really loved-up and only had eyes for each other. Matt was making Rebecca laugh and she seemed smitten.'

Atop his rumoured romance, Matt discussed his new music, after releasing new single Gone Too Long, when he was grilled if he would be putting out new music with Bros.

He told MailOnline: 'First things first, it's taken so long to get us on stage. I've got to be very diplomatic with what I say so I just wanna get on stage with my brother, get these arena shows done and then see how we go'
