Luann De Lesseps gets marriage license ahead of New Year's Eve wedding... as she prepares to lose her Countess title for good

On Monday, Luann De Lesseps and Tom D'Agostino finally got themselves an official marriage license in Palm Beach, Florida.

The 51-year-old shared the experience with her Twitter and Instagram followers, posting a selfie of the couple taken in front of a local courthouse.

In April, she'd confessed to Entertainment Tonight that once she became a D'Agostino, she'd lose the Countess title from her first marriage.

'At the courthouse': On Monday, Luann De Lesseps and Tom D'Agostino procured their marriage license in Palm Beach, Florida, the 51-year-old sharing the experience with her Twitter and Instagram following

In Monday's selfie, the Real Housewife Of New York appeared to be wearing an off-white sleeveless top. Beside her, the businessman wore a white dress shirt.

The erstwhile aristocrat captioned the photo: 'At the Courthouse getting our #marriage license #exciting #wedding #love xo'.

As she dished to Entertainment Tonight, the actual wedding in Palm Beach - where Bravo have said D'Agostino keeps a home - will be 'threefold.'

'Yes, it's true!': The Real Housewife Of New York had confirmed their engagement on Instagram this February, and will blow through three wedding dresses when they throw the ceremony in Palm Beach on New Year's Eve

The date, for one thing, marks three festive occasions. 'It’s Tom’s birthday, he’s going to be 50, it’s our wedding, and it’s New Year’s Eve.'

For another: 'I’m going to do three different dresses! For my big night, why not have three different dresses?'

She elaborated: 'I’m gonna work and collaborate and design one myself, because I love style and fashion. I’ve styled myself for the last eight years of the show.'

Luann became a Countess after marrying the Paris-born financier Count Alexandre De Lesseps in 1993.

After 16 years of marriage and two children, Victoria and Noel, the Count emailed his fourth wife that he was philandering, per the New York Times.

They finalised their divorce in 2009, and this February, seven years later, she confirmed her next engagement via Instagram.

The way we were: After 16 years of a marriage that produced two children, Victoria and Noel, the Count emailed his fourth wife that he was philandering; the family are pictured in 2007

Of losing her title, she's said: 'I’ll be Mrs D, Mrs D’Agostino instead of Mrs De Lesseps, and that’s OK,' adding: 'It will always be a part of who I am.'

She went on to explain to Entertainment Tonight that 'I have the Countess Collection on EVine, so I’m continuing with my brand.'

To hear her tell it: 'People are like: "We want to call you the Countess! We don’t want to call you Luann!" I’m like: "You can always call me the Countess."'

A new leaf: In April, she'd confessed to Entertainment Tonight that once she became a D'Agostino, she'd lose the Countess title her first marriage had conferred on her
