Man in stolen car 'shoots two cops in Georgia' then takes off on foot - launching manhunt that ended a few hours later with his arrest

Authorities in Georgia arrested a man late Monday in connection to the shooting of two police officers in the town of Lavonia.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says that the two officers sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds during a traffic stop in Franklin County, according to CBS 46.
A spokesperson for the GBI said that the officers driving near Zaxby's restaurant in Lavonia had noticed a stolen vehicle driven by a man whose arrest they sought.
As the officers approached the vehicle, the suspect shot and wounded them.
Immediately after the shooting, the suspect, 22-year-old Khari Anthony Gordon of Greenville, South Carolina, took off on foot.
Law enforcement officials launched a manhunt that ended a few hours later with Gordon's arrest.
Gordon has had prior run-ins with the law.
Last year, he and another youth were charged with attempted murder in a shooting incident in Greenville, reported.

The officers were rushed to Greenville Memorial Emergency Room with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
In the last week, six police officers in Georgia have been the targets of gunshots.
In Crawford County on Monday, two officers were shot while serving a warrant for a drug-related search.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent J.T. Ricketson tells local news outlets that members of the Peach County Drug Task Force went to serve a warrant at around 2.10am Monday to a home on state Highway 42.
The Byron officers knocked on the door of the Crawford County home and announced themselves, but no one answered.
Ricketson says the officers then went inside the house and an occupant started shooting at them.

The officers returned fire, killing the 35-year-old white man, whose identity has not been revealed at this time.
He was inside the home with his girlfriend and their young child at the time.
Officer William Patterson was treated at a local hospital and released while Officer James Wynn had to undergo surgery after suffering a more serious injury, which is non-life threatening.
A gunman shot and killed two other officers on Wednesday.

Minguell Kennedy Lembrick. 32, went on social media and wrote 'love yall' and 'I'm not going to jail' after he fatally shot Nick Smarr, 25, and his partner, Jody Smith, near Georgia Southwestern State university in Americus.
The suspect opened fire on the pair at around 9:30am on Wednesday, police said. Both were reportedly shot in the head.
Lembick already had a warrant out for his arrest when the officers encountered him and is now at large.
The next day, as officers surrounded a nearby home where he was holed up, Lembick shot and killed himself.
