'Jamie said, "Should we try for a girl?"': Louise Redknapp and husband 'eyeing baby number three' after her Strictly stint wraps

She's earned a spot in the Strictly Come Dancing final after wowing the judges and public week in week out.

And Louise Redknapp, 42, told Closer she wanted to wait for the end of the series before trying for a third baby so that she could enjoy her slimmer figure.

The singer said: 'Just when I was signing up to Strictly, Jamie (Redknapp) went to me: 'Do you think we should go for just one more?

The time is right: Louise Redknapp, 42,said she wanted to wait for the end of the series before trying for a third baby so that she could enjoy her slimmer figure

'Should we try for a girl? I was like: "What? Right now? Honestly, the once chance I've got to lose a few pounds and now you think it's a good idea?"

The star has been open about her desire to add to her brood, but accepts time is against her.

She previously told The Sun: 'Jamie would love another baby, I’m not getting any younger so we’ll see what happens. But I’m in Strictly shape now so we’ll see.'

Louise met her ex-footballer husband at the age of 19 and they wed 18 years ago, welcoming their first son in 2004.

Too soon: Louise's husband Jamie suggested they try for another baby just as she'd signed up for Strictly

The former Eternal member suffers from the common condition endometriosis - characterised by tissue from inside the uterus growing on the outside - which meant it took four years to conceive her firstborn Charley, 12.

The couple were later surprised when she found herself pregnant a second time in 2008 with Beau, eight, after just four weeks of trying.

Strictly has been a roller coaster of a journey for Louise, seeing her blossom from a shy stay-at-home mum to a showstopping queen of the dancefloor.

Reflecting on her early days on the show, she told the Daily Telegraph: 'That first day they were all just so gorgeous and confident and they had their dresses on and they were all tight and short and I just remember thinking "I can’t do this, I can’t go through with this, I can’t compete with these girls. I don’t want to".'

She admitted she lost her confidence after she put her career on hold to concentrate on raising her two boys.

Louise explained: 'Twenty years ago this would have been right in my comfort zone. When I was 23-24, oh yeah, I would have been embracing it wholeheartedly.

'But as a 42-year-old with two children who has been a mum for quite a few years, it’s very easy to forget how it feels to be on stage and have the confidence to do it.'

Dance all night in Louise's statement leather jacket

Louise Redknapp has shown the world she can dance by making it to this weekend's Strictly final. And as if that's not impressive enough, what she doesn't about designer labels isn't worth knowing!

She showed off her style credentials in a statement biker, which features the very appropriate words 'Dance All Night' in multicoloured eyelets on the back. When teamed with tailored trousers, a white T-shirt and heels, Louise totally looked the part when she was pictured at London Fashion Week earlier this year.

This amazing jacket is by Mira Mikati, a label known for quirky prints, slogans and patterns. You can shop Louise's exact style at Shopbop (click right) but be warned, it will set you back a bit!
