A mother who bought the 'perfect' tree for her young daughter's first Christmas has shamed Argos after it failed to match the box.
Zoe McAllister, 22, posted photographs on Facebook showing her limp tree and it has been shared thousands of times online.
The mother-of-one was excited for her 11-month-old daughter's first Christmas and decided to buy a new tree to mark the occasion.
But Miss McAllister, who is from Glasgow but lives in Oxfordshire, couldn't have been more disappointed with the seemingly 'perfect' tree from Argos in Wantage.
Bah humbug: This is the artificial tree bought by Zoe McAllister, 22, who vented her anger online
Spot the difference? This is the picture Argos had on the box - but it clearly doesn't match the finished product
Viral: Zoe's post has now been liked more than 13,000 times and shared over 3,000 times on Facebook.
The £18, 6ft artificial, pre-lit tree looked nothing like the image on the box.
In a message to Argos she wrote: 'I purchased the tree on the left from one of your stores. As you can see from my picture on the right it looks NOTHING like the advertisement on the box.
'I have a feeling half of my tree has been left in the factory? No amount of sprucing can fix this. Disappointed is an understatement.'
Zoe McAllister said she could not stop laughing when she saw the tree and has since returned it
The post has now been liked more than 13,000 times and shared over 3,000 times on Facebook.
Zoe, who has since returned the tree, said: 'I Honestly laughed for about 15 minutes when I saw it.
'The main reason I got the tree was because it's my daughters first Christmas so I was kind of disappointed by it in that aspect but it was very funny to look at.
'I've had to return the tree now as it really wasn't fit for use.'
Zoe said she contacted Argos via their Facebook page but claims she had to message them three times to get a response.
She said: 'They just told me to return the tree.
'They didn't respond to the fact it looked nothing like it was on the box.
'There wasn't even an apology in the message they sent back.'
A spokesman for Argos said, in a message to Zoe: 'Hi there, if you return the item to store with proof of purchase they will be happy to refund or exchange this for you.'
Zoe has since got another tree which she is much happier with.
She added: 'I couldn't really afford to buy another tree so my brother gave me his old one which looks 100 times better.'
