Nicholas Keeton, 20, allegedly identified himself as a St Louis police office when he pulled over an off-duty cop on Thursday

A St Louis man, impersonating a police officer, attempted to pull over the wrong motorist - a real cop.

The man, 20-year-old Nicholas Keeton, was charged on Friday with false impersonation of a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor, the St Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

On Thursday afternoon, Keeton parked his tricked-out Impala with flashing lights and a siren beside another vehicle at an intersection near the St Louis police station.

Keeton, who is 6ft 5in tall and weighs 260lb, allegedly identified himself as a city police officer to the driver of the other vehicle - who happened to be real off-duty cop Andrei Nikolov, according to Riverfront Times
