He has a new baby on the way with pageant beauty and former girlfriend Brittany Bell.

And earlier this week, Nick Cannon stopped by LA's hip-hop radio station Power 106 and revealed how his family - Mariah Carey, 46, and their twins Monroe and Moroccan, five - reacted to the surprising news.

The multi-talented 36-year-old admitted he's always wanted more children, and that this new child was definitely not an accident.

'The new baby, was it an "oops baby?"' prodded the morning show's host, J Cruz.

'Never an "oops baby!" I'm so calculated with my moves,' the rapper clarified, 'I've always wanted five kids.

'Just because my marriage was over didn't mean I couldn't continue my family.'

'I wanted to make sure it was someone who was solid, spiritual; had the same views [as me].

'She's been in my life, our families grew up in the same projects together in San Diego,' Nick divulged.

Cannon already has two children, Monroe and Moroccan, with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

Co-host Krystal Bee then asked how Mariah took the surprising news.

'She came at me first about it, so it was actually easier,' the Baby On the Way singer recalled.

'She called me and she was funny with it, she was like, "Mhmmm I heard about you out here in these streets."'

And when it comes to his twins, it seems revealing the news to them was even easier.

'The kids are super excited,' the proud father shared, explaining he spoke to them after the two had watched the movie Sporks, which is an animated film about delivering babies.

According to Nick, his sweet daughter Monroe said as long as she stays the oldest, she's good with having another baby brother.

When asked whether having a child with a new baby mama means he's officially moved on [from Mariah], the actor answered:

'Mariah, Moroccan and Monroe will always be my family, but we always can have other aspects of our family.'
