Vamp it up in velvet like Milla wearing Elie Saab

One of our favourite things about the autumn/winter season is welcoming velvet back into the trend spotlight. Adorning everything from boots, to jumpsuits, the material comes into its own at this time of year.

We have a particular soft spot for velvet eveningwear, so you can imagine how much we love Milla Jovovich's opulent dress from the Elie Saab autumn/winter '16 couture collection.

From the wintry plum colour, to the luxurious fabric, plus of course the statement embellishment, it's a stunning creation. The thigh-split and plunge neckline help to add a sexy undertone too.

We may not have access to a lot of couture gowns but we do have an abundance of gorgeous velvet eveningwear at our fingertips thanks to the high-street's amazing options. Our picks below from Nanaa, Boohoo, Club L and Pins & Needles are just what you need to channel Milla's look this party season.

The film, supposedly the final installment in the big screen adaption of Capcom's famed survival horror game series, see Milla reprise her role as Alice.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, the former Umbrella agent is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead.

Now to save the world from zombies and Umbrella's diabolical plans Alice must return to where the nightmare began - The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

The zombies are here: The film, supposedly the final installment in the big screen adaption of Capcom's famed survival horror game series, see Milla reprise her role as Alice.

The films has been written and directed by Milla's husband, who has helmed all the previous films, and at New York Comic Con in October he spilled the beans on what The Final Chapter would address.

Paul told a panel in a Q&A: 'It's a return to the very beginning of the franchise, Raccoon City, or what's left of it after we dropped a bomb on it in the second film. It's a return to The Hive for Alice, where it all started, and this is where we find out the truth about [her life prior to her memory being wiped].'

And answering all the questions will be an emotional journey, he said: 'This movie will have a level of emotional engagement that will be surprising for a Resident Evil movie.'

However, Milla may not be as ready to say goodbye to Alice as after her husband wrapped up she joked that there could be, 'The Final Chapter… Part 2'.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is in theaters on January 27, 2017.
