The house that served as Harry Potter's real-life 'Privet Drive' home has disappeared from the property market after being listed earlier this year.

Better known as 4 Privet Drive, the home in Martins Heron, Bracknell, Berkshire, was the set for the Dursleys home in the first Harry Potter film.

It was picked in 2001 to be the house where fans would first meet Daniel Radcliffe's Harry, forced to live under the stairs by cruel Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon.

It was listed for £475,000 in September and but was then withdrawn by the owner a month later.

At the height of the popularity of the books and movies, coach tours stopped at the yellow sandstone house and fans eagerly took pictures outside the residence.

The four bedroom home was first seen in the movie adaptation of JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

The kitchen now looks a little different to 2001 after the owners renovated it to a high standard

In 2003, its then owner, Sandra Smith, pictured above in front of the house, put it on the market in the hope of making more than the average £250,000 because of its Potter links

Lovely: The house has a large garden with grass and patio space making it perfect for a family

Previous owner, Claire Powder, said she carried out a major refurbishment at the property in Picket Post Close before it was snapped up by an unnamed Potter fan.

She bought her home for just £175,000 in 1997 but its value sky-rocketed after it was one chosen from hundreds across the UK four years later.

A logistical problem meant the house was never used again but the street was recreated as a studio for the later films, including the final installments of the story Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
