The play-maker has been staying at the plush establishment since his summer move from Borussia Dortmund - the same hotel currently playing home to team-mate Paul Pogba and manager Jose Mourinho.

Mkhitaryan has been the star of the show recently for the Red Devils, after excelling in their European clash with Zorya Luhansk before stealing the show against Tottenham.

The 27-year-old popped up just before the half hour mark against Spurs to make the telling difference, latching on to a through-ball from Spaniard Ander Herrera.

The Armenia kept his cool as the Spurs back line tried to track him down, evading the lunge of Toby Alderweireld before lashing an effort past goalkeeper Hugo Lloris into the roof of the goal.

Old Trafford erupted in celebration, though Mkhitaryan soon gave them cause for concern.

The play-maker's afternoon was cut short in the second half, after a tough challenge from Danny Rose required a medical team and a stretcher to remove him from the field of play.

But, despite the scenes, the Armenian play-maker is expected to be back in action soon

Though despite the severity of the scene, manager Mourinho has since confirmed Mkhitaryan's injury is not as bad as first initially seemed.

'It looks like it is nothing dangerous or needing surgery so hopefully we will have him back on Boxing Day,' Mourinho said in the aftermath.

'It depends always of the player - anatomy, physiology, mentality - but hopefully it is not a big thing.'
