Holly Willoughby, 35, has been criticised by fans over her style makeover which has seen her swap her usual figure-hugging skirts and dresses for floaty midi skirts and jumpers

One critic told the star she looked 'horrible' in this gold and black chevron print skirt

A pleated green midi skirt from Next teamed with a grey Miss Selfridge sweater, which she sported yesterday, drew some harsh words from critics.

'Her out fits are getting worse,' Dl.martin1978 wrote. 'She looked horrible.'

Djcrtoyenice was a bit kinder, saying: 'Nice top. Not so sure about the skirt. Nicer if it was a bit shorter.'

Geri59a also revealed that she preferred so see Holly in one of her famously figure-hugging frocks.

A pleated green midi skirt and grey jumper, which the star wore on yesterday's This Morning, failed to impress some of her Instagram followers

The star's signature look used to be tight fitting skirts with crisp blouses, but lately she's been experimenting with a new look

The Celebrity Juice favourite's new look was branded 'ugly' by one of her Instagram followers

'Nice clothes, but prefer to see holly in nice dresses. Looks far better,' she said.

A black and gold chevron pattern midi skirt teamed with a black polo neck also failed to excite fans, such as Official_azaria_gooding who commented: 'Talk about an ugly outfit.'

Irene_maddi said she was 'not keen' on the skirt, while Trippy__b called for the Celebrity Juice favourite to abandon her new style and go back to her more fitted looks.

'This look is awful Holly,' she said. 'Hated that skirt, you looked dreadful.

Holly is known for her love of a figure hugging pencil skirt (left and right). The This Morning host shares a snap of her outfit on Instagram every morning before presenting the show

'What's happened to your pencil skirts and blouses you used to rock? They were so pretty.'

A metallic pink pleated skirt from Topshop with a jumper in a matching shade won rave reviews from dozens fans who said Holly looked beautiful in the eye-catching ensemble.

But others - such as xxxsammiexxxx - found fault, suggesting the look did not flatter the star's figure.

'Not into this sadly,' she said. 'I'm normally wowed by your style, but it just expands your hips.'

Jwills1661 was also put off by the outfit, saying it wasn't up to Holly's usual high standards.

'I have to be honest, I really don't like this outfit on you Holly,' she said. 'It does nothing for you and is a bit frumpy. Not your usual classy style, sorry.'

Moongoodwin was a bit kinder, commenting: 'The skirt looks wrong but it's on you so don't really matter.'

However there was another barb from Aangied23 who said: 'Holly always looks great, but this skirt made her hips look big.'

And Jason_baran1976 added a comment that didn't sound especially like praise.

'All you need is your lacey chapel veil and you're ready for Sunday Mass,' he said.
