Thousands of men and women have taken to Reddit to share their spooky stories - and they'll make your hairs stand on end.

One man described waking in the night and feeling a cold breath on his neck and another claimed to have seen a dark figure in the basement.

Another person said they heard footsteps on the stairs - only to find no one was there, whilst another user believes he heard someone typing on his computer throughout the night - yet no one else was home.

One man described waking up in the middle of the night and feeling a cold breath on his neck and also claimed that he felt his soul was being 'sucked out' of his body.

Another person described strange happenings in their childhood home. 

They claimed that the lights would flicker and sometimes explode into pieces, and that they'd sometimes hear unexplained pacing footsteps.

Other users spoke of unexplained happenings like slamming doors, eerie airs in bedrooms and doors opening in the middle of the night without explanation. 

The thread quickly gained momentum, with thousands of people sharing their own horror stories.

Many users comforted each other by sharing their similar spooky experiences but others weren't as forthcoming, with many cynical users hitting back at the tales.
