'It's not something I'm proud of': Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber claims he discovered RIHANNA but didn't do anything about it
He's famous for being a figurehead of musical theatre but Lord Andrew said that he also discovered Rihanna - but didn't do anything about it.
Talking to Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, he claimed he heard her singing before she was a global megastar.
He said: 'I saw her singing karaoke in Sandy Lane hotel in Barbados 12 years ago.

'I turned to my friend and said, "She's very good". I wondered if we brought her back, it might be like a picture you buy on holiday and then you get home and think, why did I buy that?
'I thought I might get her home and then wonder what to do with her.'

As well as Rihanna, Lord Webber another musical talent slip through his fingers.
Susanna Reid told him that she had auditioned for the part of Maria in the Sound Of Music over a decade ago, bu that he turned her down.
She said: 'Yes, I auditioned for you. But the good Lord (Webber) said there are non-singing parts available.'

'Did you really?' enquired Piers Morgan.
Andrew continued to talk about how he might write a melody while he's in the kitchen or while in conversation.
He said: 'Sometimes I'll be doing an interview that's so boring, I'll glaze over and something will come into my head.

With a piano in the studio, Piers challenged Susanna to show off her talents.
