'Emoji translation is itself an emerging field – but one dominated to date by software, which is often insensitive to the many cultural differences in usage and interpretation,' explains Today Translations in its job ad.
'We are therefore seeking an exceptional individual to provide the human touch needed where translation software is inadequate – and to help us become the go-to translation experts in this area.
'In the absence of any native speakers, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a passion for emojis, combined with cutting-edge knowledge and awareness of areas of confusion and cultural/international differences'.
Selected candidates will also have to carry out a practical test of their emoji knowledge.

Most people think the girl flicking her hair (left) is used to represent sassiness. In fact, this 'information desk person' emoji was initially created to represent a person at an information desk providing people with answers to their questions. The meaning of girl on the right is not widely known, but she is making an 'OK' sign
The new list includes a face-palm, the long-anticipated avocado and a range of different career emoji that can be selected as either male or female.
The new emoji lineup was approved by the Unicode Consortium back in June 2016, as part of the Unicode 9.0 update.
Several new hand images have been introduced, including a 'fingers crossed' emoji, and 'face-palm' character.
A black heart has also been added that can be shared with ex-lovers or when you’re feeling cold-hearted. Users can also use a selfie taking emoji, call a friend out for lying and even let friends know that you and your partner are expecting with a pregnant emoji

The long-standing red-dress dancing woman has also been joined by a male equivalent, wearing a blue suit while pulling disco moves.
A range of new animals has been added, including a fox, duck, squid and gorilla.
And fittingly for the current 'killer clown' craze, a new creepy clown emoji can now be used.
A study released earlier this year, identified the most commonly misunderstood emojis and revealed what their real meanings actually are.
While most people think the girl flicking her hair is used to represent sassiness, this 'information desk person' emoji was initially created to represent a person at an information desk providing people with answers to their questions.
One emoji that causes constant confusion it the girl with her arms raised above her head - this is gesture meaning 'ok'.
Another emoji that is commonly misused is the sleepy face, which is often mistaken for a crying face with a tear falling to the side, but the 'tear' actually represents a sleepy snot bubble.
The grinning and grimacing emoji faces are often used interchangeably, even though they are meant to represent two very different emotions.
The Bunny Girl emoji, a symbol used in Japan associated with sex appeal, shows two women with bunny ears is more commonly used to show excitement, happiness and friendship.
