'I then had this realisation that I was losing everyone. My wife, my daughter, my life. I felt in that moment, if I wake up tomorrow and I'm still alive, I'll change.'

Tom, who was admitted to the Priory in 2006, said that now he's on the mend, he still dreams of using drugs three or four times a week.

He said: 'The sense of relief I have when I wake up and it's not real. I know I don't want to go back. It feels too real.'
