'It would be so hard to start dating again after 10 years,' daytime talk show host Ellen inquired.

'Yeah, yeah,' Joshua conceded. 'I mean, everything's on your phone now, right?'

Ellen agreed: 'You just swipe left if you want somebody or right, that's how you pick somebody now.'

The Emmy Award-winning comedienne asked if Joshua would try a dating app and he shrugged off the idea.

'What would my Match.com profile be?' he laughed.

'Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends,' a spokesperson told People magazine at the time of the breakup.

Meanwhile, a source previously told Grazia magazine that the pair split because Diane 'resented' leaving France to be with her boyfriend in New York City.

'Diane is fiercely independent and ended up resenting leaving Paris to be with Joshua,' the insider revealed.

The source added: 'She's also disillusioned with Hollywood and wasn't interested in attending events as part of a power couple, she needs her own space. The move was make or break and in the end, it broke them. Joshua is heartbroken.'

Diane moved to be with Joshua while he was appearing in off-Broadway play Smart People, but admitted she was unsure about tying the knot again.

When asked if she would consider marrying again, she said: 'Welcome to my dilemma.'

Joshua was also unsure when he told UsWeekly two years ago that the couple didn't quite see marriage in their cards.

'We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person,' he stated.

'But it may change at some point. We may get married.'
