The films has been written and directed by Milla's husband, who has helmed all the previous films, and at New York Comic Con in October he spilled the beans on what The Final Chapter would address.
Paul told a panel in a Q&A: 'It's a return to the very beginning of the franchise, Raccoon City, or what's left of it after we dropped a bomb on it in the second film. It's a return to The Hive for Alice, where it all started, and this is where we find out the truth about [her life prior to her memory being wiped].'
And answering all the questions will be an emotional journey, he said: 'This movie will have a level of emotional engagement that will be surprising for a Resident Evil movie.'
However, Milla may not be as ready to say goodbye to Alice as after her husband wrapped up she joked that there could be, 'The Final Chapter… Part 2'.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is in theaters on January 27, 2017.
