Plenty to smile about! Lily Collins can't contain her delight as she grabs a coffee after bagging her first-ever Golden Globe nomination

She bagged her first ever Golden Globe nomination on Monday for her role in Rules Don't Apply. 

And Lily Collins still couldn't contain her delight at receiving the highly-coveted Best Actress nod as she grabbed a coffee, before heading to The London Hotel in West Hollywood on Tuesday.

The actress, 27, looked incredibly chic in a structured grey coat and skinny jeans as she boasted an extra spring in her step after receiving the good news.

Lily teamed her stylish winter outfit with dark shades and a pair of black heeled shoe boots.

The screen star wore her brunette locks loose and opted for natural make-up to showcase her pretty English rose features.  

On Monday, the daughter of British rocker Phil Collins was left in shock after receiving the Best Actress nod in the Motion Picture Musical or Comedy category for her role in comedy drama Rules Don't Apply.

The actress immediately took to Instagram to share a shot of herself with her hand over her mouth in shock as she took in the good news.

Next to the emotional image, Lily wrote: 'The moment your mom captures you being nominated for your first Golden Globe. Priceless. I still can't breathe.

'Beyond honored, thankful, and proud. This can't be real!' 

Lily later added: 'I've never felt so shocked, honored, and proud. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my fearless leader and mentor Warren Beatty, the Hollywood Foreign Press, and to all those involved with Rules Don't Apply. 

'Sharing this moment with my mom sitting on our couch in the dark is something I'll never forget. It's a complete dream come true. I still can't breathe.'     

On Tuesday, Lily shared a close-up snap as she looked lovingly at her mother, American model Jill Tavelman, which she captioned: 'Waking up smiling and still floating from last night's celebrations with my mom. What a day...'

Set in 1950s Hollywood, Rules Don't Apply follows the romantic relationship between a young actress (Collins) and her driver, which has been forbidden by their boss Howard Hughes (Warren Beatty).

'He’s so lovely and so mentorish to me,' Lily told Variety about working with Beatty, who also directed the flick. 

'You always hope someone will take you under their wing and teach you — when it’s Warren Beatty, it’s like, “Oh my god, how is this real?”

And Lily revealed the advice the actor gave her on set, recalling 'Allow yourself to surprise yourself. And, the instant you give it up to the moment and are present, something happens. 

'But it only happens when you trust the people around you. I trusted him, [co-star] Alden [Ehrenreich], and the rest of the cast and crew. ' 

The 74th Golden Globe Awards will air live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Sunday, January 8 and will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
