'I am very grateful for the recognition of my peers': Natalie Portman talks Jackie nod as reactions to SAG nominations pour in
The Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were announced on Wednesday morning. And the nominees were quick to react to the honor.
Natalie Portman, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for Jackie, offered one of the classiest responses as she thanked those she worked with.
'I am very grateful for the recognition of my peers with this morning’s SAG nomination,' she pregnant star started. 'I loved making JACKIE so much, in large part due to the incredible actors our great director Pablo Larrain assembled.'

Nicole Kidman, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Lion said, 'To the beautiful beautiful actors…thank you so much!

Emily Blunt, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for The Girl on the Train:

Michelle Williams, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Manchester By The Sea, said: 'I’m so honored to be included in such an incredible group of women and to be recognized by my peers in this way.

Viola Davis, who was nominated for Fences, was quick to react.
The 51-year-old shared a photo with her costar Denzel Washington from the drama.
In the caption the How To Get Away With Murder actress wrote: 'August Wilson's words but to the endurane of the human spirit. So happy to be nominated with my amazing cast. Thank you @sagaftra.'
Andrew Garfield, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Hacksaw Ridge said, 'I woke up this morning really grateful and humbled. That not only do I get to work as an actor but that my fellow SAG-AFTRA actors felt like giving me a hearty pat on the back.
'It’s an amazing feeling to be welcomed and encouraged by my peers in this way and to be considered in the same company as these other men I am nominated alongside is a dream. I am also extremely grateful to Bill Mechanic, David Permut and to Mel Gibson, an actor/director and an actor’s director in essence, and to the tremendous cast I got to play with.'

Sterling K. Brown was moved to tears by his two nominations, one for The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and the other for his new series This Is Us.
His caption on Twitter read: '1000 times... thank you!' The image was of him staring at the camera in a selfie while wearing a white T-shirt.
In a video he said: 'I love what I do so much and to be recognized by my peers in this way is very difficult for me to process right now,' he said. 'But also very, very humbling and very, very cool. I love you, actors.'
His People v. O.J. Simpson co-star Sarah Paulson also thanked her fellow actors for the honor as she received a SAG Award nomination as well.
'THANK YOU. I haven't stopped crying yet!!' she tweeted.
He made it: Sterling K Brown, who was nominated for This Is Us, captioned his selfie: '1000 times... thank you!'
Casey Affleck, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, for Manchester By The Sea, said: 'It’s incredibly meaningful to be recognized by one’s peers. For myself, Lucas, Michelle and the entire cast, we thank our guild SAG-AFTRA and we thank our screenwriter and director Kenny Lonergan for having the vision to fully create a film we are so incredibly proud of.'
SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Cateris was joined by singer Common and actress Sophia Bush to read the list.
The announcement was made live from the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. The SAG Awards will take place on January 29, 2017 in Los Angeles.
In the film category, Manchester By The Sea led with four film nominations, Fences and Moonlight captured three film nominations each.

Captain Fantastic, Florence Foster Jenkins, Hacksaw Ridge, Hidden Figures, La La Land and Lion scored two nods each.
There was a major upset in the Best Ensemble for a film category: La La Land was left off the list (though its stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling received individual nods). The films recognized were Captain Fantastic, Fences, Hidden Figures, Manchester By The Sea and Moonlight.
In the TV category, Stranger Things, The Crown, Game of Thrones, Westworld and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story each took three nods.
Odd: La La Land, which had received the most nods by the Golden Globes, was not listed in an unexpected upset during the SAG Award nominations on Wednesday. But the film's stars, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, were named in the actor categories

Manchester By The Sea took nominations for Ensemble Cast, Best Actor for Casey Affleck, Best Supporting Actress for Michelle Williams and Best Supporting Actor for Lucas Hedges. Affleck plays a janitor who returns to his hometown to deal with the death of his brother.
Best Female Actor in a film went to Stone for La La Land as well as Amy Adams for Arrival, Emily Blunt for Girl On The Train, Natalie Portman for Jackie and Meryl Streep for Florence Foster Jenkins.
Affleck and Gosling were joined in the Best Male Actor category by Andrew Garfield for Hacksaw Ridge, Viggo Mortensen for Captain Fantastic and Denzel Washington for Fences.
A favorite: Florence Foster Jenkins, starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, have also been singled out
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role went to Viola Davis, for Fences, Naomie Harris for Moonlight, Nicole Kidman for Lion, Octavia Spencer for Hidden Figures and Michelle Williams for Manchester By The Sea.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role went to Mahershala Ali for Moonlight, Jeff Bridges for Hell or High Water, Hugh Grant for Florence Foster Jenkins, Hedges for Manchester By The Sea and Dev Patel for Lion.
Game Of Thrones picked up an Outstanding Stunt Ensemble nod with Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Luke Cage, The Walking Dead and Westworld also on the list.
Lily Tomlin has already been confirmed as the recipient of the 2017 SAG Lifetime Achievement Award.
La La Land topped the Golden Globe nominations last week and swept the board at the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday.
The film harks back to Tinseltown's golden era of big musicals. The story focuses on an actress and jazz musician who fall in love while struggling to make it.
It is a surprise that it has not been included in SAG's Best Ensemble category.

The announcements will give the nominees a welcome boost going into the race for February's Oscar.
Last year, Spotlight took home the big win for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Others recognized included Leonardo DiCaprio for his work in The Revenant and Brie Larson for Room. Both stars went on to win Oscars in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories.
As far as the TV categories, there were many favorites in the lineup.
The Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series went to The Crown, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and Westworld.
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series was given to The Big Bang Theory, Black-ish, Modern Family, Orange Is The New Black and Veep.
Nominations were selected by a panel of 2,500 randomly selected SAG-AFTRA members for films and another 2,500 members for the TV noms.
On the list: Kerry Washington was named in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie category for her role in Confirmation. Here she is seen on Sunday at the Critics' Choice Awards
