Girl gang plied football star with vodka and stripped him naked before subjecting him to a bizarre sex ordeal

Sexual assault: Brogan Gillard wielded a pair of scissors and asked ‘Put in his bum?’

A twisted trio of women picked up a stranger in a pub before plying him with vodka and filming a bizarre sex attack.

The women from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, targeted the amateur footballer and took him back to their home where they assaulted him using vegetables and scissors.

The trio danced provocatively as they filmed themselves cutting their victim’s hair, sliced onions over his naked body and parted his bottom cheeks.

A judge plans to view the ‘deeply offensive conduct’ before sentencing Brogan Gillard, 26, Paige Cunningham, 22, and Shannon Jones, 20, after they admitted the assault.

All the women pleaded guilty to the sexual assault on November 29, 2015. They denied causing him actual bodily harm and sexual assault by penetration. The pleas were accepted by the prosecution.

Prosecutor Francis McEntee said: ‘There was not a sexual motive, it was to demean and humiliate the victim.’ He said the attack ‘descended into sexual behaviour’.

The women tormented and humiliated the naked 20-year-old footballer, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, for their own pleasure.

Preston Crown Court heard that a video recording shows the complainant naked and in the foetal position on a kitchen floor as Gillard carries out the degrading attack, which involved cutting his hair and slicing vegetables over him.

‘She cut onions onto the motionless complainant,’ Mr McEntree said.‘There is music playing and she is dancing and gyrating as she is egged on by the other defendants.’

Cunningham and Jones continued to photograph and video Gillard as she brandished scissors and asked: ‘Put in his bum?’

‘Gillard parted the cheeks of the complainant’s bottom,’ said Mr McEntee.

The video recording of the assault is then obscured by ring-leader Gillard’s head, but the victim felt the sensation of pain in his bottom.

However, on medical examination, no damage was found. The court heard that the victim did not wish to give evidence in a trial.

Mr McEntee said the video recording and photographs were ‘highly sensitive’ and there were concerns they could be circulated outside the court case – there are fears the images and footage were shared on social media.

All three were granted bail for the preparation of pre-sentence reports and they will have to sign the sexual offenders’ register.

Gillard also admitted unrelated child cruelty charges. Judge Graham Knowles QC said he will view the footage of the sexual assault before sentencing in January.

‘It is disgusting behaviour all three of you have admitted to,’ said Judge Knowles. ‘All prepare yourselves for a prison sentence on that day.’

The victim’s mother, who attended the court case, said: ‘The girls picked him up in a pub and took him back to their house.

‘They targeted him and gave him vodka until he passed out. He didn’t know who they were, they were total strangers to him.’

When the victim returned home in the early hours he told his mother what had happened and she alerted the police.

‘The police worked very quickly and arrested the three women,’ said his mother. ‘The last 12 months have been very difficult with this hanging over him.

‘It is one of the worst things that could have happened. He is coping. There was no physical injury, it is more the psychological trauma.’
