Father raped his daughter for nine years and recorded his vile sexual abuse to send to other paedophiles - and only stopped when she grew 'too old to satisfy his needs'

A man who subjected his daughter to a decade of sexual assaults from when she turned two until she became too old to satisfy his paedophiliac behaviours has been jailed for 14 years.

Aged in his 50s, the Western Australian man who cannot be named,  abused the girl from about 2002-2011, recording some of it and sharing it with other paedophiles.

In sentencing, District Court Judge Christopher Stevenson said the father's actions were the 'grossest thing any parent could do to their own child', The West Australian reported.

The father would wait until his wife and stepdaughter had left the house to abuse the girl and admitted grooming her and treating her in a way that would normalise the abuse.

Her behaviour - willingly taking part in degrading activities - showed she was under her father's control. 

He also downloaded child exploitation material from the internet including content showing children as young as one being 'sadistically tortured', it was reported.

Judge Stevenson said the pornography was 'vile', 'depraved' and 'beyond human comprehension'.

'That material is baseless and it is difficult to comprehend how you could possess it.' 

The father pleaded guilty to 51 child sex charges.

They including 19 counts of sexually penetrating his daughter and 24 counts of indecently recording her.

Judge Stevenson said the offending was planned and deliberate and that the girl had been unable to reveal what was happening so no-one could protect her.

His actions did not reveal any empathy or remorse, but a psychologist said he was likely to comply to treatment and supervision. 

The man's sentence was backdated to August 2015 and he will be eligible for parole after 12 years.
