Grace & Frankie, Modern Family, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Veep, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, black-ish and The Night Of each scored two nominations.

There were also some notable snubs.

Lily Tomlin has already been confirmed as the recipient of the 2017 SAG Lifetime Achievement Award.

La La Land topped the Golden Globe nominations last week and swept the board at the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday.

The film harks back to Tinseltown's golden era of big musicals. The story focuses on an actress and jazz musician who fall in love while struggling to make it.

It is a surprise that it has not been included in SAG's Best Ensemble category.

The announcements will give the nominees a welcome boost going into the race for February's Oscar.
