Shannen Doherty brings mom to radiation treatment and reveals how she combats 'grumpiness and fatigue'

Shannen Doherty got some emotional support from her beauty parlor-owning mother Rosa during a radiation treatment for her breast and lymphatic cancer on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old actress wrote to her 1.9M social media followers: 'Today my mom came with me because Even though I'm so tired after, I'm going Christmas shopping!!! Got to get [my husband] @kurtiswarienko a present!! I love the holidays!'

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum - who also suffers from Crohn's - has undergone radiation, chemotherapy, and a mastectomy to fight the deadly disease.

In order to combat the 'grumpiness and fatigue' that comes with radiation, Shannen has regular fitness session with her personal trainer Neda Soderqvist.

'I #MOVE. Sometimes it's not graceful but it's always healing both physically and mentally,' Doherty wrote on Friday.

'It's so easy to get depressed in the battle against cancer but everyday I wake up and remind myself to be happy to be alive, relatively healthy and able to move. I'm so thankful for this life I have. Thank you #Neda @jammalibu for working with me and making me leave for my day with a smile. #cancerslayer.'

Luckily, the Back in the Day star also receives support from her husband of five years - photographer Kurt Iswarienko - who just shot Chris Pratt for the January cover of British GQ.

'I think what's beautiful and hard and interesting about cancer is that it tears you down and builds you, and tears you down and builds you,' Shannen explained on the October 27 episode of Chelsea.

'It remakes you so many different times. The person I thought I was supposed to be or was going to be or who I thought I was six months ago is now somebody completely different. I realize, "Wow, I really thought that I was so brave and so gracious this entire time and really I was just hiding."'

Despite her life-threatening illness, Doherty managed to act in TV Land's Heathers pilot on which she plays a 'pivotal, unnamed character' on November 22.

'Sneak peek from the #Heathers set..... jealous much?' the dog activist teased.

Way back in 1988, the Tennessee-born brunette famously starred in Michael Lehmann's cliquey cult classic alongside Winona Wyder and Christian Slater.

But Shannen's ambitious, bulimic Heather Duke is now a popular yet evil, gender-queer character called Heath played by Brendan Scannell.

The 'pitch black' homicidal comedy reboot - set in present day - will also feature Jasmine Mathews, Melanie Field, Grace Victoria Cox, and James Scully.
