Heath Lawson Bullard Jr., 3, from Cleburne, Texas was killed after becoming entangled in the cord from a window blind at his home

A three-year-old boy from Texas has been buried days after he died when he accidentally hung himself after a cord from a window blind wrapped around his neck.

Little Heath Lawson Bullard Jr., from Cleburne near Fort Worth, was found unresponsive at his home on Saturday night and was not breathing.

A woman called police frantically asking for the emergency services to come and help.

'It appears the child was strangled with something in the house accidentally,' Lt. Tim Jones of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office told WFAA-TV

'I cannot imagine how they feel. I really couldn't,' he said.

The little boy was rushed to hospital on Saturday evening but died the following day

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled Heath's death was an accident. He died  on Sunday night.

The untimely death from the window blinds is the 11th such death this year nationwide, and the 40th in Texas since 1980.

Parents For Window Blinds Safety is advocating for cordless blinds and keeps a list of safe products.

'My heart always sinks for any parent that has to go through this tragedy,' Linda Kaiser, a spokeswoman with the organization said.
