'Jeremy Clarkson got fired for this': Piers Morgan gets 'punched' by Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain during playful spat

They love to share a bit of on-screen banter and Piers Morgan went wild after receiving a 'punch' from Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday. 

Richard playfully slapped Piers around the head after he wandered into his shot and interrupted his piece to camera. 

The presenter gave him a grilling after the hilarious incident, saying: 'Punching a co-worker in the face is a sackable offence. I'll settle for three million if you throw him out of the building.'

Co-presenter Charlotte Hawkins said: 'It wouldn't be the same without him,' to which Piers let out a long 'hmmmm.' 

Taking to Twitter following the incident to mock Richard further, Piers wrote: 'I'll miss you @RichardAArnold. But there's no place for violence in the workplace. @GMB.' 

Richard himself playfully messaged his colleague on the social media site, writing: 'It was that or mistletoe #youdecide.' along with a wink face emoji.

Piers replied: 'Christ. In that case, keep punching me.'

He then retweeted a post from someone which said: '@JeremyClarkson got fired for this and it was a much camper slap.'

He added the word: 'Exactly.'

The tweet referred to the former Top Gear presenter who was sacked from the BBC show in March last year.

He flew into a rage after being told he could not order a sirloin steak after a day of filming, calling Mr Tymon a 'lazy, Irish ****' during a confrontation at a hotel in North Yorkshire.    

Later on the show, Strictly's head judge, Len Goodman appeared on the show and Piers asked him what he thought of Richard's actions. 

He said: 'He should get the elbow.'

Piers continued: 'I am feeling a lot of pain and stress after that slap.'
