  • The couple went to see Peter Pan Goes Wrong in the West End
  • Harry, 32, and Meghan, 35, said to have looked very much a happy couple
  • Comes two days after they were seen buying a Christmas tree together

Prince Harry took his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle on a romantic evening out to the theatre last night.

The couple were seen in Shaftesbury Avenue and are believed to have watched hit comedy Peter Pan Goes Wrong at the Apollo Theatre after getting last-minute tickets.

They were dressed in matching beanie hats and coats as they drew many a double take from bystanders, reportedly looking very much the blissful couple.

It is understood Suits actress Meghan, 35, flew in to the UK from Toronto on Monday and has been staying with the Prince in his cottage in the Kensington Palace grounds.

Their date night comes just days after they were seen carrying a Christmas tree in London after some incognito festive shopping.

The 32-year-old Royal and Meghan walked hand-in-hand as they bought a £65 Nordmann Fir from Pines and Needles in Battersea Park, south London, on Monday evening.

Harry and the actress spent around half-an-hour in the pop-up store, before paying by card and walking back to a people carrier.

They were were served by Zaqia Crawford, originally from New York, who said she had no idea who they were as she sold them the tree.

Miss Crawford, 30, said: 'It was a really casual situation. I had no idea who they were, so it was just like an ordinary customer conversation.'

She said they were doing 'cute coupley stuff' such as 'making each other laugh and being excited' and she was 'shocked' when her colleague told her who they were.

The besotted royal, 32, also made a 1,700-mile detour to visit the American actress on his way back home from an official tour of the Caribbean earlier this month.

He had been scheduled to fly directly to London from Barbados but instead stopped off in Toronto, where Miss Markle, 35, is based while filming US TV legal drama Suits.

The couple spent two nights holed up together before Harry broke cover and darted out to a waiting car and headed to the airport.

The prince took a 6.30pm British Airways flight from Toronto to London arriving at 6.25am - in time for an official engagement in the City less than four hours later on December 7.

While Harry will reimburse the public purse for the cost of his flights, the security officers seen with him outside Meghan's apartment are thought to have been Canadian, and funded by Canadian taxpayers.

Harry is understood to be spending the Yuletide apart from his new love as he visits Sandringham to be with his grandmother The Queen.

The couple's relationship, which began in the summer, was confirmed last month by Harry's communications secretary in a dramatic statement.

It described the 'wave of abuse and harassment' she has experienced since rumours of the couple's romance surfaced.

After last night's trip to the theatre, a friend of the couple told the Sun they were crazy about each other’.

The source said: They are both clearly crazy about each other. They’re very serious and have told friends they are very much in love.

As an actress Meghan loves the theatre so this was an obvious date to go on. They want to do as many normal things as possible, like any young couple.’
