It's a truth universally acknowledged that men and women don't always see eye to eye when it comes to fashion.
But that hasn't stopped these style devotees from showing off their latest wares on social media - regardless of what their husbands think of them.
In a series of hilarious online posts, women are sharing pictures of their quirkiest outfits in a bid to defy their fashion-phobic spouses and partners using hashtags like #ClothesMyHusbandHates and #ManRepeller.
Women have been sharing pictures using the hashtag #ClothesMyHusbandHates. Maeve Barry recently shared this picture of her new coat adorned with giant furry pompoms
And from furry mules to flared dungarees, leopard print trousers and golden trainers, it's clear these fashion devotees aren't going to be put off by a throwaway comment from their husbands.
'When it comes to women’s fashion, anything out of the ordinary that’s a step away from the norm tends to find its way into man-repeller territory,' says Helen Canning Ford, fashion expert and blogger at CocoMamaStyle.com. 'Think wide-leg cropped trousers, pleated midi-skirts and pyjama shirts to name but a few.
'Many key trend items from recent seasons rebel against the perceived ideal of an hourglass silhouette so it’s no wonder that men aren’t enamoured by these trend-led cuts and styles.
'Men are naturally drawn to figure-hugging styles which emphasise a balanced, curved shape; we have evolution to thank for that!

Katie Goodchild said her boyfriend was not a fan of this patterned shirt. Fashion expert Helen Canning Ford says anything 'out of the ordinary' can be considered 'man repeller territory'
Smee_sha shared a picture of her furry sandals on Instagram. Helen says these snaps are a way for women to 'feel confident in themselves, regardless of how men see it'
'But for women, these new shapes offer interesting ways to create outfits from day to night and work to weekend, not to mention comfort in oversized sweaters and pyjama dressing for example.'
Helen adds: 'It’s no secret that many women dress for other women, rather than the men in their life and we all know the outfits that will appeal to many men. While there may be a time and place for that, women should dress for themselves, to feel confident in themselves, regardless of how men see it.'
