'I'm pretty disappointed with Kanye': John Legend is not happy with pal West's meeting with Donald Trump as he calls it a publicity stunt
Kanye West shocked many when he met with President elect Donald Trump on Tuesday.
And no one seemed to be more shocked or disappointed about the event than the rapper's longtime friend and collaborator John Legend.
The 37-year-old singer opened up about about Kanye's controversial meeting in an interview with Clique.tv on Wednesday.

John said: 'I don't think it's impossible to talk to [Donald Trump] about issues, but I won't be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt.'
Despite a longtime friendship and working relationship, the All Of Me hitmaker was not afraid to criticize his own friend.
The husband of Chrissy Teigen explained: 'I'm pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump.'
He goes on to describe the President elect as being 'corrosive' to the US.

John added: ' I think the things he's promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.'
As Kanye has had a rough month or so even suffering from a mental breakdown recently, the interviewer asked if Kanye might have had something else in mind.
John replied: 'Whatever's in his mind, I disagree with him.'

Kanye's pal Common - who won and Oscar with John - was not as harsh, saying he will always love Kanye but did not think his meeting will do much.

Common told TMZ: 'Kanye that's my brother that's my family right there. He's going to do what he chooses to do.'
The rapper said chnage will not happen beacuase of that meeting: 'I think a lot of the change we are looking for is going to happen from the people. The power is in the people. It's going to be us to really galvanize.
'No matter what color you are, look out for each other, start economically supporting each other and then holding politicians accountable, find out what's going on with mass incarceration, changing some of these laws that's jailing people.'
But while he does not agree with Kanye, he will not turn his back on him, Common continued.
'To answer your question, Kanye, that's my guy, that's my homie . That's always going to be my brother. Some things he does, that's what he chooses to do. I know I'm going to do things how I choose to do them. Sometimes we'll do it together, that's how love works.'
On Tuesday the internet was buzzing after Kanye met with Donald to speak about 'life' and 'multicultural issues.'
Kanye even came home with a souvenir as he tweeted out a photo of a signed copy of the President elect's TIME magazine Person Of The Year cover.
'To Kanye you are a great friend. Thanks,' read Trump's message, accompanied by his autograph in silver permanent marker.
Just after their meeting, Kanye sent out a series of tweets saying he had wanted to discuss 'multicultural issues', which he said were 'bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago', with Trump.

'I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change,' he said.
Finally he tweeted: '#2024.'
Kanye and John are close friends and so are their wives Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen as they even shared photos from a double date at Waffle House in Glendale, Arizona back in February.
