  • He was there to celebrate his ninth birthday and even held a betting slip
  • His grandmother, the Queen, is world famous for breeding race horses

The Queen's youngest grandson has shown her fondness for having a flutter runs in the family.

James Viscount Severn, son of Prince Edward and Sophie, was caught cheering on horses at Ascot.

He was at the world famous racecourse to celebrate his ninth birthday and showed all the passion for horses that his grandmother is famous for.

James, who is 10th in line to the throne, wore a smart tweed jacket whilst holding a betting slip at the Christmas Meeting.

Both he and his sister Lady Louise Windsor enjoy horse riding together, following in the footsteps of their aunt Princess Anne and cousin Zara Tindall.
