A high-flying meeting: Queen Letizia, right, arrives for a Foundation Against Drug Addiction meeting at the Banco Santander headquarters in Madrid. She was greeted by Santander chairman Ana Patricia Botin

Even the lipstick matched! Letizia, 44, showed off her glossy brunette locks as she attended the drugs charity meeting

In a show of sartorial synchronisation, Ms Botin also opted for tweed, sporting a grey and white long coat with black trousers and smart boots.

Letizia, who wore her glossy brunette mane loose, opted for the seasonaltweed top by Uterque and teamed it with an old favourite - a plum pencil skirt by Hugo Boss.

A smart pair of heels - perfectly matched in colour - and a clutch bag completed the look.

On a breezy day in Madrid, it proved the perfect ensemble as she arrived for the meeting about the charity which is close to her heart.

Her Majesty became the honorary president of FAD in September last year, taking on the role from Queen Sofia who served as patron for nearly 30 years.

It's a tweed kind of day: Santander chairman Botin, regularly voted one of the world's most powerful women, opted for a similar fabric to welcome the royal to the bank's Madrid HQ

Dress like royalty with Queen Letizia's Hugo Boss skirt

She's known for her chic dress sense and Queen Letizia was living up to her reputation as she stepped out to an event today.

She teamed a bouclé sweater by Spanish brand Uterqüe with a purple skirt by Hugo Boss, before finishing off with purple suede pumps and a clutch.

Queen Letizia clearly has a soft spot for this aubergine-colored skirt - and a soft spot for Hugo Boss in general, actually - which we have seen her wear many times before, often teamed with the matching 'Jamayla' burgundy blazer.

Particularly at this time of year, opting for an oxblood shade makes a refreshing change from black while still being an apt palette for winter.
