'Bah humbug!': Pregnant Cheryl and boyfriend Liam Payne share funny festive card as they count down to Christmas 

They're set to celebrate their first Christmas as a couple.

And Cheryl hinted that boyfriend Liam Payne is a bit of a Scrooge as the pair shared funny festive cards in the run up to Christmas.

The 33-year-old star posted a mocked up cartoon image of herself and the 1D singer, 23, wearing matching red ensembles against a snowy backdrop.

This comes after Liam gave eager tweeters a glimpse into his home life as he replied to a select few as he relaxed in his luxurious living room.

The One Direction singer - who is currently working on his first solo album while the band are on hiatus - showcased his incredible surroundings as he shared an intimate snap of his lounge while answering a fan's tweet about what he was doing.

Filled with luxury L-shaped couches to offset the on-trend white walls, fans got a snippet of Christmas cheer from his sitting room with his garland covered flame filled fireplace, Nutcracker inspired statues and life-sized Santa Claus standing tall in the corner.

The scene was the picture of coziness with the blazing fire and his dog - Great Dane Watson - relaxed on the carpet by Liam's feet while he watched Jim Carey movie The Truman Show on the plasma across the room. 

The 23-year-old displayed his minimalist yet classic taste with his crushed velvet ottoman, beige leather sofa and vast mahogony coffee table.

Even his holiday decorations were tasteful, with a table centerpiece set in the middle of the space featuring a glass candle hurricane filled with festive cranberries and surrounded by further pillar candles in a dark sandy shade.

Above this, hanging from the ceiling, was a stylish parachute light shade - sure enough to create an appropriate level of mood lighting at nighttime for cozy nights in with pregnant girlfriend Cheryl - who is thought to be due to give birth at some point early in the New Year.

Cheryl was not around at the time of the snap as Liam enjoyed a quiet Saturday afternoon at home alone, with one eye on Twitter and one eye on the TV.

He later tweeted that he was watching The Conjuring 2, clearly not in the mood to binge on Christmas films.

One item that didn't impress fans was the giant Father Christmas that stood in the corner of the room by the window.

'Doesn't that Santa in the corner creep you out' one fan asked the star, to which he replied: 'A little he's kind of looking up in the sky like he's lost.'

Liam is said to have been inspired by her Girls Aloud band mate Kimberley Walsh's partner Justin Scott, who got down on bended knee after she gave birth to their son Bobby. 

A source told the Daily Star: 'Liam got the idea to propose straight after the birth after finding out that Justin popped the question after the delivery of their first child.'

'It's given Liam so many ideas. There will definitely be wedding bells sooner than we expected.'

Meanwhile, this week a video which was shot just two months before the couple went public with their relationship, with Cheryl filing for divorce from husband Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini in January after just 18 months of marriage.

Liam then appeared to confirm their romance at the end of February when he posted snapshots of the pair lying down together on his Instagram account, while changing his profile bio to say, 'Happy.'

Despite Cheryl showing off what appeared to be a visible baby bump during an outing with Liam to a Christmas carol concert last month, the couple have so far kept mum about her pregnancy. 

Cheryl - who was previously married to to Ashley Cole  - first met Liam when the hunk auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 when he was just 14. 

And theirs will be the second One Direction baby following Liam's bandmate Louis Tomlinson having son Freddie with Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth in January.
