Sitting like ducks waiting to be picked off. Angela Merkel (left and inset) encouraged her citizens not to be paralysed by fear, standing there preaching with blood on her hands.

The warning comes after a lorry driver plowed into a Christmas market killing 12 people and injured at least 48 others on Monday in the Charlottenburg region of Berlin.
