Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby, a spokeswoman for the couple said today. Equestrian champion Zara, pictured left at the start of the pregnancy in late October, and former England rugby player Tindall announced at the end of November they were expecting their second child. But a spokeswoman for the couple (seen together in April, centre), said today that they had lost their second child. 'Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy,' the spokesman said in a statement. Zara - the Queen's granddaughter - has been pictured out and about and looking well throughout the pregnancy, including earlier this week at the Queen's Christmas lunch (top right), and riding her horse in October (bottom right). She and her husband already have a daughter, Mia Grace, (pictured inset with her parents last year) who is almost three. When they announced the pregnancy the couple said they were 'thrilled' to be expecting again. It is thought Zara would have been about four-months pregnant, and that the baby was expected to arrive in late Spring.

Abandoned dog found curled up on his owner's recliner in Detroit

The injured and emaciated dog was sleeping on the broken recliner among a pile of garbage in the freezing cold in Detroit, Michigan for more than a week. The dog's family had moved away and failed to take him with them. A heartbreaking photo shows him clinging to the chair and the dumped belongings on the snow-covered street waiting for his family to come back for him. The starving dog was rescued by an animal welfare group. He was found with a broken leg, missing teeth and ribs poking out under his fur.

A harrowing distress call made by the United Airlines Flight 935 pilot on Friday afternoon revealed that Fisher, 60, was kept alive with CPR administered by a fellow passenger after she was reportedly not breathing for 10 minutes or so. Prior to landing at LAX, the pilot of the United flight told the control tower that passengers aboard the plane - including a nurse - were helping an 'unresponsive passenger,' but did not name who it was. Fisher (pictured center in London earlier this month) is currently in the middle of a book tour for her memoirs, the Princess Diarist.
