Family fun: The Beckhams celebrated Christmas as a family. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Cruz, 11, revealed he was enjoying spending time with father David

Clad in a baseball cap and sunglasses as he beamed down the lens, Cruz captioned the image 'Check out the dude in a hat (my dad)Hanging out with @davidbeckham @victoriabeckham @brooklynbeckham.'

David looked rather sleepy in the snap, possibly an effect of the festive tipple he had enjoyed earlier, as he also took to the photo sharing site to reveal he was having a whisky for a 'Christmas toast!'

But it was the Beckhams' youngest child Harper who seemed to be the most eager, as mum Victoria shared a snap of a Christmas card designed by the five-year-old.

'Harper is so excited!!!! Kisses on Christmas Eve!!! @davidbeckham @brooklynbeckham @cruzbeckham X VB', she captioned the shot.

The household were no doubt all listening to Cruz's charity Christmas single - which has recently been subject to much scrutiny.

Yet Victoria and David have stood tall against their critics as they continue to promote their 11-year-old's foray into the music world - most recently with a video of the footballer and his son belting out the track.

While the 41-year-old patriarch, who has been accused of being a 'pushy parent', got into the swing of the song, cheeky Cruz looked horrified at his father's attempts at tunefulness as he buried his head in his hands.

Cruz and the Beckhams have caused controversy since announcing the release of the single earlier this month - after which a bevvy of critics and supporters emerged.

Two camps developed with some lauding Cruz's sweet assault on the charts while others, including Piers Morgan and Rebekah Vardy, have blasted the youngster.

It seems the criticism is like water off a duck's back as the pair happily posed for the hilarious clip in which Cruz feigned embarrassment at his world famous dad.

While David wore his favoured baker boy cap, Cruz went for a funkier look as he wore a trucker cap adorned with a beach skyline.

Since David's retirement from football in 2013, the couple - who are parents to Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and Harper, five, - have managed to turn everything they touch to gold.

She has an eponymous international fashion empire while he works as a model, humanitarian and brand ambassador.

The children have also begun to embrace their individual talents, with eldest son Brooklyn recently pursuing opportunities in photography and middle son Romeo working as a model for Burberry.

Cruz has now made his first foray into the music industry, following in former Spice Girl Victoria's footsteps.

Though many have asked whether it is too soon for the school boy, who released If Everyday Was Christmas with former child star Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun earlier this month.

He has also amassed a 281k-strong Instagram following since joining the social media site last month.

Since then, David has revealed that the charity single was Cruz's idea and insisted that they have not acted like 'pushy parents'.
