Throwback! Lily Collins, 27, couldn't resist getting into the festive mood as she shared a picture of herself visiting Santa as a little girl on Thursday

Donning a tartan dress with a frilled white lace neckline and matching bow-tie, young Lily looked absolutely delighted for the occasion.

'#FBF to blonde lil Lil making sure to color coordinate as she told Santa everything on her Christmas list...,' the British/American star captioned the sweet snap.

And years later it seems as if the stunner can tick something off her Christmas list after she received a Best Actress nod in the Motion Picture Musical or Comedy category for her role in comedy drama Rules Don't Apply.

Upon hearing the news earlier this month, the star immediately took to Instagram to share a shot of herself with her hand over her mouth in shock as she took in the good news.

'This can't be real!': The star was left in shock last week after receiving the Best Actress nod in the Motion Picture Musical or Comedy category for comedy drama Rules Don't Apply

'What a day': Lily shared another Instagram snap with her American model mother Jill Tavelman, which hinted they had celebrated the news all day in style

Next to the emotional image, Lily wrote: 'The moment your mom captures you being nominated for your first Golden Globe. Priceless. I still can't breathe.

'Beyond honoured, thankful, and proud. This can't be real!'

Lily later added: 'I've never felt so shocked, honoured, and proud. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my fearless leader and mentor Warren Beatty, the Hollywood Foreign Press, and to all those involved with Rules Don't Apply.

'Sharing this moment with my mom sitting on our couch in the dark is something I'll never forget. It's a complete dream come true. I still can't breathe.'

The next day, Lily shared a close-up snap as she looked lovingly at her mother, American model Jill Tavelman, which she captioned: 'Waking up smiling and still floating from last night's celebrations with my mom. What a day...'

'He’s so lovely and so mentorish to me,' Lily told Variety about working with Beatty, who also directed the flick.

'You always hope someone will take you under their wing and teach you — when it’s Warren Beatty, it’s like, “Oh my god, how is this real?”

Look lovely in lace like Lily in Elie Saab

Lily Collins channeled gothic glamour vibes at the Critics Choice Awards last weekend, with the star looking fabulous in a lace dress.

The look had an Adams Family vibe about it with the old school lace, pale make up and dark lips and eyes, but it worked beautifully.

The drapey lace gown was a couture piece by Elie Saab who made it to measure for the stunning actress and we loved the funnel neck and slightly sheer finish. It was super modest with its high neck, long sleeves and floor length, ensuring Lily was the epitome of elegance.

You cannot of course shop this dress, but click right to buy the current ready-to-wear line instead.
